Festool Sliding Compound Miter Saw

Rail forward design increases precision and creates a compact footprint while preventing head play for accurate cuts

In the hands of a carpenter, the Kapex will make cuts that rival the finest trim work being done today. Engineered to be lightweight and compact, the KS 120 is the perfect saw for the workshop or the jobsite. Effective dust extraction, precise cuts, easy adjustments, and quality components are some of the features that should make this saw the number one choice of professional tradesmen.

Use the fine-adjustment knob to control the bevel of the cut to fractions of a degree with extreme precision. The knob rotates and engages a rack and pinion to move the head. The head is counter spring balanced which means that once you set a bevel angle it will not move before you lock it. The bevel angle is very large and easy to read and the distance from the axis of rotation provides maximum accuracy.

Easily align cuts from the left or right side of the Kapex using the dual lasers. The lasers clearly define the material which will be removed during the cut. Using the three axis adjustment controls, you have complete control to fine-tune the lasers. A conveniently placed button can be used to turn on the laser without powering on the saw. The lasers are electrically powered and require no batteries.

Great tool!

Arrived fast and has already been used several times. Batteries charge quickly, and drills, driver, light, saw, and reciprocating tool are powerful and easy to handle. Speaker is an unexpected delight!

building a lot of stuff!

Now I can keep building stuff really badly, crooked, and not professionally, but with great tools.

It’s a very good purchase

The drill and driver is not that heavy, and I was able to finish a lot of things in our new house. The light on the driver is a nice feature when working in low-light areas. The battery seems to last long since I have not charged it again after the initial full charge, but I only use it occasionally. It’s very easy to use with the quick-release of the battery. All in all, this performs better than I expected, and the price is lower than buying in-store.

Surplus of power

The LED ring light is reason enough to get this impact drill. The surplus of power is just a bonus to me. Some features are easy to use, so are a little more complicated, but you learn them as you use them. I feel the Makita quality is second to none in the Impact & Drill sphere.

These tools have been fantastic

These tools have been fantastic. The new XDT20 has worked flawlessly and the ring light really steps up working in poor lighting situations.

Drill is awesome

The drill is awesome, but there is a problem when I charge the battery. I heard a crackling sound, then the light flashed once. I removed the plug and plugged it again, but the charger doesn't work; the drill and battery are in good condition.

Impressed

I expected this saw to be good quality, but was pleasantly surprised that it was ready to go out of the box aside from adjusting the throat plate to be level with the top. The top itself is flat according to an actual straight edge calibrated to 0.002" over 38 inches. The blade was square to the top, and even the rule for the fence was spot on. Been making full-depth cuts, ripping white oak, and it's doing well. Of course, it's not as fast as the high-dollar cabinet saws, but it does the job. Impressed.

Fantastic

Got this unit on sale and love it. had to downsize from a 240V contractor-style saw because of limited space in my small shop. This saw seems to be doing a great job so far and was accurate out of the box

tools are the best

I bought this for a bathroom remodeling project and this saw is nothing less than awesome. It did an amazing job helping me cut through my old fiberglass tub and shower inserts. Very satisfied.

The Best Reciprocating Saw I Have Used

Absolutely fantastic! Light, yet sturdy, no cord, convenient and fast cutting. This is a huge win for any project where you don't have a plug nearby. The chuck design is excellent with super quick release blade exchange and no little screw to tighten with a special wrench (that always gets lost) as so many other reciprocating saws have. The blade stays in well, and the front is adjustable for different tip lengths and angles. It cuts quickly and stops immediately once you let go of the trigger, which is a good safety feature. If you are already using DEWALT tools and have the batteries, getting the bare tool is a good cost saver. If you are new to DEWALT, it may be best to get one with the battery and charger, or if buying a battery separately, look for a minimum of 3AH battery. Less than that will run through really quickly.
